Meeting with Azerbaijani Minister of Education

Today, Georgian Prime Minister held a meeting with Emin Amrullayev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Education.

The meeting focused on the strategic partnership between the two countries, with the parties discussing expanded education and science cooperation.

The parties pointed out that signing the agreement on cooperation in the area of education between the Georgian and Azerbaijani Ministries of Education will further strengthen the ties between the two countries’ academic communities, schools of higher and vocational education, also promoting Georgian and Azerbaijani language bachelor’s degree courses in relevant schools of education.

The meeting emphasized that the Georgian side will continue working on enhancing teacher qualification and professional development in the area of general education, also on textbooks for Georgia’s Azerbaijani-language schools and Azerbaijan’s Georgian-language schools.

The Government of Georgia remains committed to enhancing access to quality education and improving the knowledge of the state language among Azerbaijani students, a decisive factor in ensuring their integration and full participation in the process of democratic development.

 

The meeting at the Administration of the Government was attended by Georgia’s Minister of Education and Science Mikheil Chkhenkeli and Faig Guliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia.
