Meeting with new Ambassador of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Paata Kalandadze, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China.

In the meeting at the Administration of the Government, the key directions of the strategic partnership between the two countries and the priorities in the relations with the People’s Republic of China were discussed.

Focus was made on the Prime Minister’s successful visit to the People’s Republic of China last year, during which the successful cooperation between the countries advanced to the level of a strategic partnership. The Prime Minister and the newly appointed Ambassador discussed issues pertaining to the implementation of the plans set during said visit.

Irakli Garibashvili congratulated Paata Kalandadze on his appointment to a new position and wished him success in his future endeavors.

For his part, Paata Kalandadze thanked the Head of Government for declared trust.

Paata Kalandadze has years-long diplomatic experience. In different years, he held various positions at the Foreign Ministry, having served as Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and the State of Israel.

Before his appointment as Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Paata Kalandadze served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United Arab Emirates.
