Meeting General Christopher G. Cavoli

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met General Christopher G. Cavoli, Commander of United States European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe within the scope of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) today.

Long-standing strategic partnership and cooperation between Georgia and the USA was noted at the meeting. Tremendous support demonstrated by the USA over years to the strengthening of democratic institutions in Georgia was highlighted, along with the advancement of defense capabilities and economic growth-enabling. Dignitaries also discussed prospects of future cooperation.

Support of the USA towards Georgia for the advancement of defense capabilities was also discussed at the meeting. US contribution in the overall Euro-Atlantic security was also noted. The Head of Government of Georgia thanked the US General for the support demonstrated in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia.

According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, the country is and will remain to be the most reliable and loyal ally of the USA in the region and beyond. It was thereby noted that Georgia welcomes a more active engagement and investments of the USA in solidifying the Black Sea Security, economic development and connectivity.

The Prime Minister of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the USA for the unwavering support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
