Meeting the Prime Minister of Armenia

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia today.  

A Face-to-Face Meeting held within the Government Administration was followed by a Session of the Inter-Governmental Economic Cooperation Commission, whereby dignitaries reviewed the productive cooperation between the two countries elevated to a new level of strategic partnership.

As Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia noted, transition of relations between Georgia and Armenia to the level of strategic partnership will enhance the cooperation between the countries.

Prime Ministers discussed the key topics of the cooperation agenda and assessed the dynamics of operation within the scope of the Inter-Governmental Economic Cooperation Commission. Attention was focused on the trade, economic, transport, logistics, arts and culture links between Georgia and Republic of Armenia.

Dignitaries also spoke about new directions of economic cooperation and new prospects of interaction. Role of the Inter-Governmental Economic Cooperation Commission was highlighted, which is an important platform for solidifying the connection between the countries.

Topics of discussion included the security environment and challenges in the region and globally. Irakli Garibashvili stressed the importance of supporting peace and stability in the South Caucasus, thereby noting that new opportunities will be created in the region by ensuring peace and stability.

Significant role and efforts made by Georgia in facilitating the peace and stability in the region were noted at the meeting, inter alia referencing a meeting of Prime Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Tbilisi. Irakli Garibashvili noted that Georgia stands ready to direct its efforts towards a peaceful development of the region.
